Your Tasks:
- Performing functional tests and parameterization of protection relays and protection devices in medium-voltage systems
- Reviewing and optimizing protection settings (overcurrent, earth-fault, and distance protection) to ensure safe system operation
- Independently troubleshooting and rectifying faults in protection devices and protection systems
- Analyzing and documenting switching operations and protection trips to identify root causes of faults and malfunctions
- Performing final acceptance tests and commissioning tests on new protection systems prior to commissioning
- Preparing condition reports and developing recommendations for optimizing protection technology
- Working closely with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel to ensure smooth integration and maintenance of protection systems
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and technical standards, e.g. VDE and IEC
- Performing electrical inspections and tests in accordance with applicable DGUV regulations and DIN VDE 0100 standards
Your Profile:
- Completed vocational training, further qualification as a Technician/Master Craftsman m/f/d, or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable field
- Strong knowledge of protection and control technology, particularly in the use of protection systems for medium-voltage systems (approx. 10 kV to 36 kV and above)
- Professional experience in protection technology, ideally in the field of medium-voltage systems
- Confident handling of protection concepts such as overcurrent, earth-fault, and distance protection, including their application and optimization
- Good knowledge of relevant safety regulations and technical standards, with the ability to consistently implement them in practice
- Structured, meticulous, and independent approach to work, particularly in planning, testing, and documentation
- Valid Class B driving licence
- Ability to work at heights and willingness to travel throughout Germany
